Dr. Gan is an active member of the Maryland Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. He is certified in the treatment and management of ocular diseases. He practices optometry with interests in specialty contact lenses, computer vision syndrome, and laser vision correction (LASIK and PRK) co-management. He is licensed to practice in Maryland and Virginia.
Dr. Irving Gan graduated from Seneca Valley High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland College Park campus with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his Doctorate of Optometry (O.D.) from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry with honors in his clinical rotations. Before starting a private practice, Dr. Gan spent time at the Baltimore, MD, and Wilmington, DE Veterans Affairs Hospitals, gaining experience in managing patients with glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Gan broadened his experience and knowledge through experiences in large companies such as Pearle Vision, LasikPlus, and TLC Laser Eye Centers. Additionally, he attends conferences and meetings to obtain the latest information on eye health and the advances in using technology in an optometric office.
